IMPORTANT: Hurricane Michael Update

Due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Michael and the potential for dangerously high winds, heavy rains, and flash flooding, the Middle District of Georgia Bankruptcy Court will do the following:

Macon

  • Early release of all Macon staff today, October 10, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.
  • Closure of the Macon courthouse on Thursday, October 11, 2018 all day. Employees will telework to the maximum extent possible under the existing weather conditions. Please note that if you cannot contact a Macon-based employee, you can contact our Columbus office at 706-649-7837.
  • Hearings in Judge Smith’s court on Thursday, October 11 will be continued to a different day to be determined by the Judge.
  • Currently, we plan on reopening the Macon courthouse as normal on Friday, October 12, 2018.

Columbus

  • Early release of all Columbus staff today, October 10, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.
  • The Columbus office will operate as normal on Thursday, October 11, 2018 all day. If the storm’s track alters or weather conditions are substantially different from what is expected, we will send out an email notification Thursday morning informing you of any changes.
  • Judge Laney’s hearings on Friday will be conducted as normal.

Valdosta 341, Friday, October 12

  • The Valdosta 341 meetings scheduled for Friday, October 12, 2018 will be rescheduled to Friday, November 2 at the same hour as originally planned.
  • Confirmations for these cases will be rescheduled for Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).
